Drupal: An Open-Source CMS
Drupal is a flexible and free source content Management system used extensively by many people now-a-days to manage their blogs, personal sites, and enterprise application to commercial site.
As per Wikipedia, “Drupal is a free and open source content management system (CMS) and Content Management framework (CMF) written in PHP and distributed under the GNU (General Public License). Drupal is created and maintained by a community of thousands of developers and users. This community is headed by Mr.Dries Buytaert, who has originally written Drupal.”
Drupal is free and it’s ready to use as soon as it is downloaded. It comes with large number of add-ons which are helpful in content management, blogs, managing picture gallery and even tagging pictures.
It is written in PHP; a language known for its flexibility in building dynamic web sites. It requires database such as MySQL etc. to store the content and settings. Drupal make use of certain modules which enables the site admin to organize, customize, display content of his website and manage the routine tasks such as users registrations etc.
